★ Samantha Cookinham is a freshman at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication in the School of Media and Public Affairs. She is expected to complete her undergraduate B.A. degree in 2020, with plans to attend Law school afterward. Samantha has exceptional experience as a broadcast and print journalist. She hosted and produced her own show “Getting Civic with Samantha Cookinham,” and co-authored a book, “Project EV: A Student Achievement A Teaching Adventure,” published on Amazon. She has gained experience as an intern for renown local journalist Margie O’ Brien at Capitol TV and is currently a member of GW-TV at George Washington University. Samantha captured her legal interest as a shadow intern at the Rhode Island Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin’s Office and as a Pager for the Rhode Island House of Representatives General Assembly. Samantha aspires to be a broadcast journalist and lawyer. ★
